CranioSacral Therapy
Gentle hands-on care for nervous system regulation, deep rest, and recovery.
CranioSacral Therapy is a gentle, highly skilled form of hands-on care that supports nervous system regulation and helps release deep patterns of tension. By working with the craniosacral system, your practitioner supports your body’s own capacity for healing, self-regulation, and greater ease.
You may find yourself drawn to CranioSacral Therapy during periods of stress, recovery, pain, fatigue, and nervous system overload. It is also well suited when you are seeking work that reaches beyond the muscular layer.
What to Expect
Your first session begins with a conversation about your health history and what has brought you in. You remain fully clothed throughout the session. Loose, comfortable clothing is recommended.
Your practitioner will check in to make sure you feel comfortable and at ease before touch begins. When contact is made, the touch is very light and gentle. Your practitioner listens for subtle rhythms and movements throughout your body, feeling for where your body needs support. Sometimes that is where your symptoms are. Other times the root cause is somewhere else entirely. Your body leads the session.
During the session you may notice a sense of warmth, softening, floating, or deep relaxation. Some people enter a quiet, meditative state. You may leave feeling calmer, more open, and more grounded. Some people notice a shift immediately. Others experience a steadier change over the following days as the nervous system continues to settle. The effects of this work often continue to unfold after you leave — take time in the days that follow to notice how you feel.
While a single session can be meaningful, many clients find that a series of sessions is what allows the deepest and most sustained change.
