Small Group Pilates Classes in Boulder

Thoughtful instruction in a supportive setting.

Small group reformer Pilates class at Boulder Bodyworks in Boulder Colorado

Classes at Boulder Bodyworks are kept to five or six participants, small enough that you receive individualized attention.

Because classes are intentionally small and taught by instructors with decades of experience, you receive support and modifications when you need them.

The Reformer, Tower, and other Pilates apparatus challenge the whole body, building strength, stability, balance, and coordination through mindful, supported movement.

Small group classes are a good fit if you have some familiarity with Pilates and feel comfortable following instruction in a group setting. We encourage all new clients to complete at least three private sessions before enrolling in a class. The Intro to Pilates 3-Session Package is the ideal starting point.

Instruction is attentive and individualized at every level.

Getting Started

If you are new to Pilates, private sessions are the best place to begin. They give your instructor the opportunity to understand your history, your body, and the way you move, while helping you build a foundation that makes class more effective and more rewarding.

If you are experiencing pain, recovering from injury, or have other physical concerns, private sessions are especially important. If private sessions are not possible, please text or email us before booking a class so we can help you find the safest and most appropriate option.

Beginners are welcome in Level 1 or Mixed Level classes, and we are happy to help you find the best starting point.

Intro to Pilates 3-Session Package

The Intro to Pilates 3-Session Package is the recommended starting point for anyone new to Pilates or considering group classes. It gives you time with a teacher one on one, introduces you to the method and the equipment, and builds the foundation that makes a group class genuinely rewarding. When you arrive in class with that foundation, you move with more confidence and get more out of every session.

Class Types

Reformer Class

A Reformer-based class emphasizing alignment, control, and integrated movement. Instruction focuses on precision and thoughtful progression, with individual guidance offered within the group setting. You develop whole-body strength, improved posture, and more coordinated movement that carries naturally into daily life.

Equipment Class

An equipment-based class that may incorporate the Reformer, Tower, and Chair. Classes are thoughtfully sequenced to develop balanced strength, stability, mobility, and coordination across the whole body. Standing balance work and light weights may also be incorporated to support confidence, stability, and ease in everyday movement.

Virtual Pilates Class

A virtual Pilates class is available on Mondays at 4:30 pm with Tambre. No equipment is required. Modifications and prop options are provided so you can move comfortably and effectively from home.

Class Levels

Level 1

Level 1 classes are designed for beginners and for people who benefit from a more accessible pace due to pain patterns, spinal concerns, joint replacements, injury history, or other physical vulnerabilities.

You are introduced to foundational Pilates principles including alignment, breath, stability, and healthy movement patterns. Individual guidance and modifications allow each person to build confidence and establish a strong, supportive foundation.

Level 2

Level 2 classes are appropriate for people with a solid foundation in Pilates who are ready for a more challenging pace and a broader range of movement. These classes build on established strength, coordination, and body awareness while inviting you to work with greater complexity, control, and endurance.

Modifications are available when needed, but you should feel comfortable moving through class with a degree of familiarity and independence.

Mixed Level

Mixed Level classes welcome a range of experience levels. Instructors offer modifications, progressions, and individual guidance so you can work appropriately within the class.

This level is well suited for people who enjoy the shared rhythm of a group while continuing to refine alignment, coordination, and control in their movement practice.

Class Packages

Classes are available as single classes and in 5-class and 10-class packages. Classes can be reserved online.

Because classes are intentionally small, they do sometimes fill. If a class is full, you are welcome to join the waitlist online, or text us and we will be happy to add you. If you do not see a class time that works for you, please text or email us and we will be glad to help.

What Clients Say

“Sorting through the numerous Pilates studios in Boulder can be a challenging endeavor. What distinguishes Boulder Bodyworks for me is the noticeable care, intent, and passion exhibited by everyone in the studio. Having commenced with a 3-pack of private Pilates sessions, I have discovered comfort in the outstanding skills and kindness displayed by all the instructors. The classes accommodate various skill levels, and I feel at ease booking sessions with any of them.”

“My physical therapist recommended this studio to help me gain and maintain core strength. Since I started attending regularly my back is far less sore and I move more freely. I love this place because there are no fitness gimmicks, just really knowledgeable, professional, and welcoming instructors. The space is also beautiful.”

— Rebecca S.

“I have been doing Pilates here for a year now and I really love this studio and the instructors. The classes are small and they tailor the instruction to each individual based on your needs. It is a really supportive and positive climate too.”

“I cannot say enough good things about Boulder Bodyworks. I have been going to them for years and have happily recommended them to friends who have also had great experiences. The Pilates instructors are exceptional — they really know the human body, Pilates, and how to teach people of all different abilities and limitations. The manual therapists are phenomenal as well. Everyone is super friendly, extremely knowledgeable, talented and compassionate.”
