Acupuncture in Boulder
Gentle treatment. Deep regulation. Thoughtful care.
Acupuncture at Boulder Bodyworks supports pain relief, digestive health, hormonal balance, sleep quality, and nervous system regulation through a thoughtful blend of Chinese and Japanese acupuncture traditions.
If you are new to acupuncture, you may be surprised by how comfortable it is. The needles are extremely fine, insertion is typically minimal, and treatment is often deeply calming. Many people leave feeling quieter in their nervous system. Some fall asleep during the session.
Treatment is individualized and grounded in careful listening, clinical experience, and an understanding of the body as an integrated whole. The goal is to address what you are experiencing now while also supporting longer-term balance, resilience, and healthier patterns over time.

What Acupuncture Can Help With
Acupuncture is part of a comprehensive system of medicine developed over thousands of years. Treatment may help reduce pain, improve circulation, regulate the nervous system, and support balance throughout the body.
Clients commonly seek acupuncture care for:
• neck, back, and joint pain
• headaches and migraines
• stress, anxiety, and sleep concerns
• digestive concerns including IBS, bloating, reflux, & SIBO
• fatigue and immune support
• women’s hormonal health
• men’s hormonal health
• nervous system regulation
Boulder Bodyworks provides acupuncture care for clients throughout Boulder, North Boulder, and surrounding communities.
Women’s Health and Hormonal Balance
Acupuncture has long been used to support women’s health and hormonal regulation. Treatment may help with menstrual irregularities, PMS, fertility support, perimenopause, and menopause, as well as the physical and emotional shifts that can accompany hormonal change.
Care is individualized and may include herbal medicine when appropriate.
Digestive Health
Digestive symptoms are often influenced by nervous system regulation, gut motility, and overall systemic balance. Acupuncture and Chinese medicine can help support digestive function and may be useful for concerns such as IBS, bloating, reflux, food sensitivities, and SIBO.
Treatment may include acupuncture, herbal medicine, and supportive dietary guidance tailored to the individual.
Men’s Health and Hormonal Balance
Many men seek acupuncture for stress-related patterns, sleep issues, fatigue, digestive concerns, and support during hormonal or metabolic shifts.
Treatment focuses on restoring nervous system balance, improving circulation, and supporting long-term vitality.
Pediatric and Needleless Acupuncture
Some people prefer a lighter approach. Gentle treatment options, including needle-free techniques when appropriate, are available. Pediatric acupuncture is carefully tailored to each child’s age, constitution, and comfort, using tuning forks and a needle-free Japanese pediatric approach called shonishin.
Comfort, consent, and a calm, steady experience are prioritized at every step.
Shiatsu in Boulder
Shiatsu at Boulder Bodyworks is offered as a fully clothed Japanese meridian bodywork treatment and may also be combined with acupuncture for deeper regulation and support.
Shiatsu works along the body’s meridian system using focused pressure with the hands, thumbs, and elbows. Treatments are performed fully clothed on a massage table and support circulation, reduce tension, regulate the nervous system, and improve internal organ function.
You may also choose a combined acupuncture and Shiatsu session, integrating both approaches for a more comprehensive and deeply regulating treatment.
Shiatsu may be especially helpful for:
• neck and back pain
• shoulder, hip, and joint pain
• headaches and migraines
• stress, anxiety, and nervous system dysregulation
• sleep disturbances and insomnia
• digestive concerns including IBS, SIBO, reflux, & bloating
• fatigue and immune support
• women’s hormonal health
• men’s hormonal health
• TMJ and jaw tension
• sports injuries and repetitive strain
• chronic tension and pain patterns
Every treatment is individualized and tailored to what you need most.
